[Octagon] Strategist, Influencer Marketing
Octagon, the world’s premier global sports marketing agency, is seeking a Strategist, Influencer Marketing to join its digital strategy practice. In this role, you'll support our influencer team by executing influencer & social content strategy, talent discovery, campaign management, and measurement for our brand clients. You will connect brands and creators, focusing on aligning talent recommendations with sports partnerships and properties.
The Strategist will be responsible for planning & executing social media campaigns for our clients – focusing on influencer marketing, community management, social media trend reporting, and social listening.
***Octagon’s headquarters are located in Stamford, CT, but the location of this position can be flexible with a preference for working in one of Octagon’s locations -- Stamford, CT, Chicago, IL, New York, NY, Charlotte, NC or Atlanta, GA. Remote candidates will not be considered.
THE WORK YOU'LL DO
Assist with all aspects of influencer campaign planning and execution including identifying social trends, platforms for execution, and discovery of talent.
Serve as a primary data investigator including KPI measurement, demographics analysis, real-time reporting, and social listening.
Lead talent discovery and assist with talent procurement – working closely with talent through outreach, contracting, and reporting.
Help develop influencer creative briefs and strategies – building campaigns that are authentic and on-trend with the platforms and communities in which they live.
Compile and build campaign wrap reports inclusive of quantitative and qualitive measurement.
Simultaneously work on multiple projects relying on strong project management and organizational skills – from initial strategy through final wrap-up.
Develop social and digital ideas, actively participating in strategic digital brainstorms.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
1-3 years of proven experience in influencer marketing.
A passion for and expertise in sports, entertainment, music, and/or celebrity & pop culture as well as a pulse of what’s trending in social & digital content – what’s resonating with fans, what platforms are growing, what content matters to fans.
Experience working with talent including but not limited to content creators, athletes, and celebrities.
A self-starter who exhibits resourcefulness and demonstrates initiative to support the day-to-day logistics of planning, implementing, & reporting on social and influencer programs.
Strong understanding of the social media mechanics and best practices across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and Twitter (X).
Someone who is curious and steadfast in understanding how data and analytics tools are used across social media; You believe data is important and a primary driver for any marketing campaign.
Experience with digital analytics and social tools – examples include CreatorIQ, Infegy, and Brandwatch.
An organized and active contributor – you know how to keep everything on task and have a keen attention to follow-through.
Someone with strong project management skills who can build & monitor trackers, organize client deliverables, execute talent insurance, etc.
Proficient in Microsoft Office – specifically PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Flexibility and willingness to travel. Anticipated travel level: Low (0-15%)
This position pays $50,000 - $52,000 and comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
